Graduate Study

UMBC Graduate Program Descriptions

Current Consortium Partner Programs

Graduate study is a central component of the Shriver Peaceworker Program. Fellows engage in full-time academic study across a number of disciplines. Acceptance into the Peaceworker Program is contingent upon admission to a graduate program offered by the University of Maryland, Baltimore County or by one of our Consortium partners. Peaceworkers have the flexibility to choose from a number of disciplines and programs, allowing them to explore their own academic and professional interests and develop their own approaches to the challenges of social change and development. Applications to the humanities, sciences, technical disciplines and professional schools are equally encouraged. Since 1994, Peaceworkers have received degrees in 17 academic disciplines from UMBC and eight Consortium Institutions.

Note: You must apply separately for admission to your graduate program. Please check directly with the UMBC Graduate School or your Consortium Institution for application procedures and materials. Your application to graduate school and your application for a Shriver Peaceworker Fellowship are distinct and separate processes. Please do not send graduate program applications to the Peaceworker Program.

No Fee The Shriver Peaceworker Program is happy to make the following announcement: Applications to the UMBC graduate school submitted by Peace Corps Volunteers (PCV) currently serving overseas are eligible for a $50 application fee waiver
