Experience... the differences in recruiting at UMBC
Each year, The Shriver Center places over 1,300 UMBC students in internship, cooperative education, and research experiences in nearly 500 public and private organizations in the Baltimore/Washington area and abroad. These professional practice programs are a major resource for employers in the region and an excellent training ground for students. By combining classroom study with on-the-job experience, students earn academic credit, grasp the link between theory and practice, and learn valuable job-related habits and skills. Shriver Center co-op, internship, and research students consistently earn exemplary reviews from host organizations, often followed by an offer of full-time employment when they graduate.
