UMBC offers 42 majors, 41 minors and 17 certificate programs in the physical and biological sciences, engineering, mathematics, information technology, humanities, and visual and performing arts. New degree programs include environmental science, financial economics, a B.F.A. in acting, media and communications, and gender and women's studies. A Game Development Track and Public Health Track have been added to existing programs.
